Announcing the Lingua Legis Merit Scholarship Fund

Good translators are not born, they are created.

Natural talent and near-native fluency must go hand in hand with years of education and training. At Lingua Legis, we work only with the best – and we know that top translators are a rare commodity. That is why our philosophy is to actively promote the education and development of professional translators.

To this end, we are proud to announce the creation of the Lingua Legis Merit Scholarship Fund in association with the Monterey Institute of International Studies.

The Monterey Institute of International Studies, an affiliate of Middlebury College, is a private graduate institution located in Monterey, California. It is at the forefront of international professional education, preparing students for global careers in the private, public, non-profit and educational sectors. The Institute offers graduate degrees in translation and interpretation, international policy studies, international business, and language teaching. The Institute’s approximately 800 students come from nearly 70 countries.

A partial scholarship of US$ 10,000 will be awarded to a deserving student in the Class of 2010 who is pursuing a master’s degree in the German translation and interpretation program.
